Frequently Asked Questions
Read below to find out more about what to expect during therapy.
What to Expect
Many people ask what they can expect to happen in a therapy session. Because each person has different issues and goals for therapy, therapy will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs. Some people prefer more processing and exploring, others prefer more solution-focused sessions.
Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time therapy takes to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek therapy in the first place. Most people attend therapy weekly; However, due to obstacles such as busy schedules and/or limited finances, some people choose to attend bi-weekly.
I utilize a secure, private platform designed for health care professionals. When a therapy session is scheduled, you are emailed a link to the “meeting room” where we will meet for your session. Ten minutes prior to your session, you will receive another email with the same link. This way you don’t need to search back through your email to find the initial email sent days prior.
There are three forms I ask you to complete prior to our first meeting that is sent to you via email – a consent form, HIPPA privacy form, and intake form. It only takes about 10 minutes to complete. You will be prompted to pay via credit card or debit card right before the session begins.
Services / Fees
I do not accept health insurance. However, many health insurance plans include out-of-network benefits. If you have out-of-network benefits, I utilize a service that can submit your out-of-network claims for you so you don’t need to wait for reimbursement.
I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation for all new clients in order to gain a better idea of your situation prior to your first appointment and help determine if we would be a good therapist-client match.
Each 60 minute therapy session is $250.
